On January 23, 2023 the Russian authorities declared The Andrei Sakharov Foundation an “undesirable organization”. We regret this sudden antagonistic action of the Russian Federation’s Office of Prosecutor General, which came so soon after the celebration of Andrei Sakharov’s centennial. We will, of course, continue our peaceful work focusing on our mission of preserving the humanitarian and scientific legacy of Andrei Sakharov and advancing his ideas by defending and promoting human rights, intellectual freedom, and peace.
