]]>  Today, Marina Sakharov-Liberman met with a Scottish sculptor Colin Campbell and his wife Ann in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. This was a culmination of a long search for the sculptor, which took years and ended up a success thanks to the selfless help of many strangers, who responded to Marina’s pleas trying to track the sculptor 33 years after he sent Andrei Sakharov a birthday wish in 1988. 

The ASF is very grateful to Mrs. Fiona Veitch of Yetholm, Kelso, for her invaluable help in locating Colin!

The sculptor and the statue were re-discovered 33 years since the sculptor first contacted Andrei Sakharov on his birthday in May 1988!
